What happens when you turn on the device and it would load past the logo? It can be worrisome and very annoying especially if you are so eager to get into the VR game action. 

Users have different experiences when it comes to Quest 2 getting stuck. While some user complains that the device gets stuck repeatedly on the logo. Others complain that the device goes off after staying stuck on the logo. Regardless of the complaints, these experiences disrupt the user experience.

Wait It Out

You are not certain what could be the cause of the problem. Minor bugs could cause it, it could be as a result of overusing. All these can be fixed by exercising mere patience. Instead of panicking, the best thing you can do is give the headset some time to fix the problem. 

Ensure that the device is on and plugged in. Once you ascertain these, leave it for a while. To endure the eagerness, you can opt to do other house chores that will keep you busy. In most cases, the device only needs time. It has the capacity to fix minor problems without external influence; you just have to wait it out. 

Hard Reboot

Another troubleshooting option you should try is the hard reboot. If you have waited for considerable minutes or hours and the problem is not fixed, you may consider this method.

Sometimes, minor bugs could hinder the Oculus Quest 2 from functioning well. These bugs can be easily fixed using a hard reboot. 

To do the hard reboot, follow these steps. 

Step One:

Press and hold down the power button and volume button at the same time. Hold for about 10 to 30 seconds, the menu screen should be on display already. 

Step Two:

Use the volume button to navigate. Scroll to the Boot Device option. Click on the power button to select your option. 

The device will go off and repower itself. If minor bugs cause the problem, the hard reboot will fix it effortlessly. The problem must have been fixed by the time your Oculus Quest 2 comes back on. 

Fix Proximity Sensor Problem

Numerous reports suggest that proximity sensor problems cause many screen problems on Oculus Quest 2. Try to fix the problem. To do that, follow these steps:

Step One:

Get a clean microfiber cloth. Take the headset and locate the proximity sensor, clean its surface with the cloth. 

Step Two:

Remove the foam pad and the silicon cover that comes with the device. 

Step Three:

Turn off the auto wake feature on the device. It is important to know that once you turn this feature off, you will have to always use the power button to turn on the device. 

You may wish to leave the auto wake feature on. That’s not a problem. Cover the proximity sensor, restart your device, and see if that resolves the problem. 

Do Proxy Refresh

It is normal to think that the Oculus Quest 2 has refused to boot when the screen gets stuck on the logo. However, sometimes, the fault could be caused by minor bugs. They can make the screen stuck on the logo whereas the device has completely booted. Resolve this by doing a proxy refresh. 

To do this, connect the Oculus Quest 2 using the Oculus app. Follow these simple steps to do that. 

Step One: 

Turn on the headset. Open the Oculus app on your mobile device. Ensure the mobile device is paired to the headset. 

Step Two:

On the mobile device, check for the list of devices available. Locate your Oculus Quest 2 and click on it. Ensure that it is connected. 

Step Three:

Open a game you often play on your mobile device. Close the game app. Check the headset to see if the problem has been resolved. 

Factory Reset

Factory reset should be the last option you will adopt to resolve the problem. Ensure you back up your data on the headset using the Oculus cloud. This is to ensure that you don’t lose your data. 

To reset the device you can use two methods. You can reset it using your mobile phone and you can reset it using the device itself. 

Reset Using Mobile Phone

Ensure the device is charged. Open the Oculus app on your mobile phone. Scroll to devices and click on your Oculus Quest 2 headset. 

Click on advanced settings, select and confirm Factory reset.

Ensure the headset is charged. Switch off the headset. Press and hold down the power and volume button together. Do this until the menu screen pops up. 

Use the volume button to navigate through the available options. Scroll to factory reset, click on it using the power button. Scroll to Yes, Erase my data using the volume button, then select using the power button.

Leave the headset for a few minutes for the reset to be completed. Once it is completed, the device will come up. 

This method should fix the problem and if not, do the last option. 

Contact Oculus

If the problem is not resolved after you have done the factory reset, that means something more serious has gone wrong with the device. Instead of giving it out to random engineers to fix, the best bet is to contact the ones that made the device.
